Family Relationships and Family Health

How does this work?

Dr. Bologh strongly believes that maintaining positive family relationships are an important factor in ensuring long-term family health. Family therapy helps each family member deepen their connections and understanding of each other while addressing emotional pain and negative behavior patterns. It can be helpful in any situation which brings stress, grief, confusion, fear, or anger into your family. Laura has received extensive training and has a great deal of experience successfully working with families and children to overcome a variety of relationship, behavioral, and personality issues.

If you are seeking therapy for your child Dr. Bologh often treats children as part of an ongoing managed family plan, that way parental involvement is part of the child's therapy from the beginning. If this is an issue you would like to address we can discuss it as part of our intake conversation. We will work together to put a plan together where sometimes you may meet as an entire family, while other times it may be best to meet one-on-one.

People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma to dealing with depression or anxiety to managing relationships in a healthier way, to simply focusing on personal growth and greater self-knowledge.

Another area that Dr. Bologh focuses on is the common struggle that occurs between the ages of 25 – 35 which we describe as “the quarter-life crisis”. Many people begin to question their future (romantic relationships, career choices, living arrangements) and feel incredibly stuck in regards to moving forward in life. To power through this “quarter-life crisis,” we will explore self-esteem issues, social media impact, family dynamics, relationships, finances, and career decisions.

  • Each family member will have a chance to describe their concerns.

  • You will examine your family’s ability to manage stress and conflict, solve problems, and express thoughts and emotions.

  • Explore family roles, behavior expectations, and rules.

  • Be given direction on how to solve problems and set family norms.
