Re: Eight Years Later

 

Dear Dr. Bologh,

I would guess that it is rare for a parent to thank you eight years after you provide therapy to their child but I wanted to let you know how much you changed our lives.

​

Just as a reminder, at age 10, my child seemed to be afraid of everything. Despite doing well in school, she was sure she would fail. Every family outing was stressful because she was worried that terrible things would happen. Fears we expected our child to outgrow were actually getting worse. Her brothers were getting tired of this and the family bond was cracking.

​

Then we found you. My child and I worked with you for a year and the impact on our lives was outstanding and permanent. My child is a senior in high school, a popular leader and applying to colleges right now. When she sat down to write the big essay that goes with all college applications, she wrote about anxiety and the strategies that you taught her that helped her to change her life and become a confident young adult who is ready to succeed in college.

I helped my child edit that college essay and it brought back so many memories of the year we spent meeting with you that I just had to sit down and write you this letter.
